Next Steps

Next Steps supports young people in Linn, Benton, and Lincoln Counties who are homeless or at-risk of experiencing homelessness with housing, resources, and personal support, for up to 18 months.

You are encouraged to apply for the program if you…

  • Are between the ages of 18 and 20
  • Are completing or continuing your education
  • Can meet WEEKLY with a case manager
  • Can attend regularly scheduled skills training groups
  • Have a desire to obtain employment and be engaged in your community
  • Agree to save $300 or 30% of monthly income every month
  • Can maintain sobriety

Jackson Street Next Steps offers…

  • Housing in a dorm/apartment style community setting
  • Financial Resource Support for education, counseling, health care, and transportation
  • Case Management that will provide you with the skills, resources, and support you need to live independently
  • Skills Training Groups to help you learn about relationships, health/fitness, communication, budgeting/savings, drugs and alcohol, meal planning, and tenant readiness
  • Recreational Activities to provide you with an opportunity to explore and engage in your community, try new things, and make new friends
